Bare Naked Ladies Concert and a Daytime Date

It's been a crazy weekend and here I am, on a lazy Sunday morning, finally able to post and I have lots to share about the detox, the concert, and our daytime date yesterday afternoon.

As for the detox, I decided five days was plenty for me.  My body wasn't feeling well and my runs felt even worse.  Not that I was trying, but I lost a few pounds over the five day period and I just felt sluggish.  I am glad that I tried it, but my body never reacts well to anything different or foreign and I have to keep that in mind.  Thank you to all who were following and commenting on Twitter about my five day journey.  You all definitely made it easier along the way!

On to the fun stuff!  Friday night, Fred and I went to the Bare Naked Ladies concert right here in Bethlehem.  BNL had three lead-up bands prior to them taking the stage, two of which I never heard of...Cracker {not Uncle Cracker like some of us thought!}, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, and Blues Traveler.  I wasn't a fan of the first two, and Blues Traveler sounded better back in the 90's.  But our big surprise was how great the Bare Naked Ladies were, especially after losing their lead guy a little while ago.  Ed, the current front man, was outstanding and carried the band tremendously.  They were fun and they played a bunch of their old stuff...which we loved.

Blues Traveler...

Bare Naked Ladies...

My latest celebrity crush is the lead guy {third from the left in the black}.  I told Fred and he just rolled his eyes... :)

Blues Traveler came on to sing "If I Had A Million Dollars" with BNL...It was great!

We were sad when the concert had to come to an end because it was so fun!

Saturday was such a beautiful day...we're talking 75 degrees and sunny with no humidity.  Fred came home from his football scrimmage and told me that we were going on a road trip.  I had no problem with that!

We headed south along the Delaware River, which borders New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  The drive is scenic and there are lots of little places to stop along the way.

First stop...this little farmer's market/produce stand...

They had these seedless yellow watermelons, which I've never heard of before.

This little town of Milford was cute.  It had a bakery, a few cafes and shops.  We went on the bridge that overlooked the river.  Pretty!

Here I am in my Oiselle starting line tee.  Love this shirt!

This was our view for most of the drive...

Next stop...Frenchtown, NJ.  I want to know how they crocheted this blanket around this tree?!

There were bikes to rent...

Pasteries and cookies to eat...

Apartments to rent that were NOT haunted.  We thought this was pretty funny, especially since it was on a realtor's sign.

And if you have ever read the book, "Eat, Pray, Love" {or watched the movie starring Julia Roberts}, the author and her husband {the "love" part from that story} live in Frenchtown and own this little store called "Two Buttons."

I got this neat bracelet from the store.  It wraps around my wrist like a Slinky.

I need to be getting to the grocery store so the winery part of this trip will be posted tomorrow.  Are for running, I did an easy 3 miles yesterday and this morning I ran 9.5 miles in 1:15.  My body felt fine, but I had an upset stomach.  I'm just glad it's over with!

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. Great post! I was concerned about the detox draining your energy and it sounds like that is exactly what happened. Well, now you can say you tried it!. Guess what, my husband's name is Fred too! I absolutely love your road trip to what sounds like a really cool little town. The start line tee is also one of my favs.

  2. Thanks! Yeah, I was glad I did it, but I am more glad to have my energy back. That's funny that your husband's name is Fred because it's not a common name...especially in our generation. We had a great time yesterday...it was one of those impromptu getaways! Love it!
