The Zoo, A Photo Shoot, and a 5-Miler

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

I'm still having fun in the sun down here in Diamond Beach, New Jersey with my husband and two girls.  Yesterday, we took a trip to the Cape May County Zoo.  What was especially amazing about this zoo was that is was free to enter {donations accepted}.  They had picnic pavilions, parks and of course, the beautiful zoo filled with tons of animals.

We saw the baby snow leopards...

This giraffe killed me...He looked like he was posing for photo ops...

Here are some other cuties....

Look at the size of his paw!

Fred and I as we wait for the kids to take a few minutes on the playground...

After the zoo, we stopped for lunch at one of our favorite places in Cape May, Lucky Bones.

First, Fred and I shared their Rocket Salad, which was a combination of arugula, shaved fennel, roasted veggies, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and figs topped with a green vinaigrette dressing.

Then, we also shared a margarita brick oven pizza with fresh mozzarella and basil.  It was delicious!  The crust was thin and crispy...yum!

Last night, we hit the beach for a little photo shoot.  This is a tradition we do every year and it is something I can't miss.  For the shoot, I buy the girls a dress to wear and we choose a pleasant evening to shower up, get dressed and smile!

Once we got back from the beach, we hung out by the fire pit at our resort.  It was incredibly relaxing and cozy.

This morning, I ran another 5 mile loop ~ out to the boardwalk and back.  It always feels good to get a workout in before hitting the beach or pool.

Followed by a breakfast of Greek yogurt, peanut butter and bananas.  Oh, and coffee of course!

Ok, it's time to relax before heading to the beach!  Enjoy your day!

  1. Wow! Too many great pics in this post! I love the family pics on the beach with matching dresses and all. I would totally do something like that with my family. :) What a great tradition! And that pizza looked so yummy! Now I'm hungry!

  2. Thanks! Sometimes the photos are not well received by the kids...but it is the one thing that is important to me because those memories last a lifetime! The pizza WAS delicious! Oh, and I usually don't regret a run myself...but I do regret when I don't push myself out the door....
