Afterschool With My Daughter

I love having a girls’ night with my seven year old!  Last night, Payton and I had the house AND the evening to ourselves so we made the most of it.

After I picked her up from school, we came home and changed into our casual clothes and sneakers.  I decided it was a perfect day for a jaunt around the neighborhood so as I walked Willsey, she got on her shiny new bike and rode along with us.

Once that Willsey had his fill of exercise, we came back and had a quick dinner of leftover mac & cheese and chicken salad.

Ok...so this isn't the best photo...

Then it was off to Kohl’s.  Since it was the last day of their sale and I had a 30% off coupon, it was definitely a night to take advantage of the prices.  In addition, I was in dire need of new pants…and shoes, and dresses, and (well, you get the picture).

Since I've picked up the mileage and intensity of my running workouts, I have dropped a few sizes.  This isn’t necessarily a bad thing.  But on the flip side, I seriously have no pants or Capri’s that fit properly, thus…the need for a trip to Kohl’s.

All of that shopping made us hungry, so we moseyed our way across the street to So Fun Yogurt for a scrumptious cup of yogurt + toppings.  At that place, they charge by the pound so I had to monitor Payton’s serving size!

They had so many flavors to choose from!

She got peanut butter yogurt with sprinkles, Reese's peanut butter cups, and a squirt of hot fudge.

I mixed chocolate and peanut butter yogurt and topped it with Reese's peanut butter cups and a little hot fudge.  The perfect combination!

Delish!

When we got home, we put on our PJ's and Payton read me a few books...

Phew….after a busy night, it was time to relax with Willsey.  He loves this special bonding time with me.

Well…it’s time to tackle the day…full of more PSSA testing and a progession run with Lauretta after school.

Enjoy this warm weather!

  1. A little known fact about kohl's...it was started in milwaukee wisconsin br senator herb kohl, hence the name. In case you thought Wisconsin was completely useless, you'd only be 98% correct!
